It depends on the procedure, but we generally recommend taking some time off work or school. Most patients are back to normal activity within a few days for a simple extraction, longer for more involved surgery. We will give you a realistic timeline before you commit to anything.
Follow the aftercare instructions your surgeon gives you, since they are specific to what was done. Common guidance includes resting with your head at an incline and avoiding foods that could damage or irritate the surgical site.
Many procedures are done under local anesthetic while you are awake. For longer or more complex surgery, or if you are anxious about it, we offer sedation options. Tell us how you feel about it and we will plan around that.
